I'm Tay, a qualified electrologist and a trans woman, and I understand how important this treatment can be.
At SquareOne Laser Clinic, I offer high-quality, medically-informed electrolysis in a supportive space designed by and for the trans community. Receiving care from someone who truly understands the process can make a world of difference, especially for something as personal and vulnerable as hair removal.
Electrolysis is an essential part of many transfeminine people's transitions. However, it’s often difficult to access. We offer discounted rates for those who need them to ease this and make the treatment accessible for the whole community.
We offer all three electrolysis modalities: thermolysis, blend, and galvanic. Each treatment is tailored to your goals, skin type, and medical history. During your initial consultation, we'll discuss long-term goals and decide on the safest and most effective treatment plan, so you feel fully informed and supported.
Each treatment is tailored to each individual customer, whether it be a short 5 minute session or several hours. We will also provide some aftercare instructions and gel for you to take with you following the appointment.
As hair regrows after treatment, it becomes progressively finer and the time between sessions gradually increases. Sometimes multiple treatments are needed to fully destroy each hair follicle, and every client responds differently.
Your treatment plan will be tailored to suit your individual progress and needs.
A fine, sterile probe is inserted into each hair follicle, where a small electrical current is applied. This current destroys the cells responsible for hair growth. The hair is then gently removed with tweezers. Over time, this leads to permanent hair removal.
The minimum for treatment would usually be around 3mm, enough for us to grip each hair with tweezers after treating it. This is typically around 3 days growth for most, however this can vary for each person.
Electrolysis is ideal for permanently removing unwanted hair across the body. It works on all hair types and colors, including light, grey, or red hair which lasers may not target effectively. It’s suitable for most skin types and can treat areas with precision.
Discomfort levels vary, but most clients describe a brief, warm sensation or a slight sting during treatment. The sensation is tolerable and generally fades quickly. Topical numbing creams can be used for sensitive areas if needed.
Multiple sessions are necessary, as hair grows in cycles and only hairs in the active phase can be treated. The number varies based on hair density and area.
The duration of each appointment varies, but a typical session is between 15 and 60 minutes. Treatment plans are customized depending on the size and number of areas being treated.
We use a high-quality, professional-grade Sterex electrolysis machine that allow us to offer thermolysis, galvanic, or blend methods depending on your needs and skin type. Equipment is sterilized and complies with strict hygiene standards.
Pricing is based on treatment time: 30 mins: £29, 60 mins: £47. Please get in touch either way if you are struggling to afford this as we may be able to help.
